چکیده

This paper considers the problem of assumptions refinement in the context of unrealizable specifications for reactive systems. We propose a new counterstrategy-guided synthesis approach for GR(1) specifications based on Craig’s interpolants. Our interpolation-based method identifies causes for unrealizability and computes assumptions that directly target unrealizable cores, without the need for user input. Thereby, we discuss how this property reduces the maximum number of steps needed to converge to realizability compared with other techniques. We describe properties of interpolants that yield helpful assumptions in GR(1) and prove the soundness of the results. Finally, we demonstrate that our approach yields weaker assumptions than baseline techniques.

New adaptive interpolation schemes for efficient meshbased motion estimation

Motion estimation and compensation is an essential part of existing video coding systems. The mesh-based motion estimation (MME) produces smoother motion field, better subjective quality (free from blocking artifacts), and higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in many cases, especially at low bitrate video communications, compared to the conventional block matching algorithm (BMA). Howev...

Cover interpolation functions and h-enrichment in finite element method

This paper presents a method to improve the generation of meshes and the accuracy of numerical solutions of elasticity problems, in which two techniques of h-refinement and enrichment are used by interpolation cover functions. Initially, regions which possess desired accuracy are detected. Mesh improvment is done through h-refinement for the elements existing in those regions. Total error of th...

Experimental Study on Shape Retrieval Using QPIAL

An experimental investigation on shape retrieval using Quadratic Polynomial Interpolation of Adjacent Landmarks (QPIAL), a newly proposed shape refinement method [1], is carried. Shape representation is a fundamental issue in the process of shape retrieval, a category of Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). Many shape representations and shape refinement methods have been proposed. Fourier Des...

Interface Conditions for Wave Propagation Through Mesh Refinement Boundaries

We study the propagation of waves across fixed mesh refinement boundaries in linear and nonlinear model equations in 1–D and 2–D, and in the 3–D Einstein equations of general relativity. We demonstrate that using linear interpolation to set the data in guard cells leads to the production of reflected waves at the refinement boundaries. Implementing quadratic interpolation to fill the guard cell...

Nesting in WRF with Vertical Grid Refinement and Implicit Relaxation

We present results using WRF Version 3.1 with modifications to allow for nesting with vertical grid refinement. A new switch that controls the vertical refinement factor is added to the namelist. The program ndown is modified so that when this switch is greater than 1, a high order monotonic interpolation is activated in the vertical. The fields are rebalanced to minimize the generation of tran...
